Stimulus‐Responsive Smart Foam with Dual Wettability for Transfer and Controllable Release of Carbon Tetrachloride

A novel and smart melamine sponge cube with pH-responsive surface and superhydrophilic interior shows a capability for the absorption of subaqueous CCl4 under neutral and acidic conditions. Further, alkaline condition allows a release of the absorbed CCl4, accompanied with autonomous diving-surfacing processes. This device may provide new trains of thought for designing intelligent 3D materials.
