The Publisher of the Journal of Web Librarianship has retracted the following article: Subaveerapandiyan, A., Baiju, A., Ahmad, N., Verma, M. K., & Sinha, P. (2024). Exploring Metaverse Literacy: Immersive Technologies in Library Environments. Journal of Web Librarianship, 18(2), 39-63. https://doi.org/10.1080/19322909.2024.2382688 Since publication, a concern was raised regarding an unverifiable reference in the published article. Following an investigation by the publisher, additional concerns were identified regarding informed consent, the study design and the integrity of the data. When approached for an explanation, the authors responded but have been unable to provide their original data or the necessary supporting information. As the Publisher has been unable to verify the validity of the published work that is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, it is therefore retracting the article. The corresponding author listed in this publication has been informed. We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and the COPE principles. The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
