Study of isolated dual-mode bidirectional DAB-LLC converter for automotive use

To cope with the challenges of energy transition and carbon emission reduction, high-performance power conversion devices are urgently needed for new energy vehicle drive systems. In the current paper, a soft-switching resonant DC converter with two-mode switching operation characteristics is designed. Firstly, the energy transfer characteristics and soft-switching conditions of the converter are analysed under boost/buck operation. Secondly, the parameters that can simultaneously meet the requirements of two-mode operation are designed by combining the parameter design method of LLC resonant converter. Finally, a simulation model is built in MATLAB/Simulink to fully verify the validity of the above theoretical analysis.
