A Single-Stage AC-DC Converter Based Resonant Semi-DAB with Hybrid Discontinuous Conduction Mode and Fixed Switching Frequency Control

This paper proposes a hybrid DCM modulation and control strategy for the resonant semi-DAB-based single-stage high frequency isolated AC-DC converter. Two simple DCM modulation modes are used and the smooth transition between them can be obtained. The primary side switches can achieve ZVS within full operating range, and the secondary side diodes also can achieve ZCS within full working range. Compared with the non-resonant semi-DAB and modulation strategy, the proposed topology and modulation method can reduce the turn-off current and turn-off loss of switches. And this converter can achieve the function of step-up and step-down for voltage. The effectiveness of the proposed converter and control method is verified by simulation results.
