ABSTRACT This study offers an example of ‘standing theology’ as distinguished from sitting theology and kneeling theology. This sermon was delivered in Liverpool Cathedral during Choral Evensong on the Second Sunday before Advent 2025 when the New Testament reading was Matthew 13: 1-9, 18-23.
