Previous reports have shown elevated serum concentrations of soluble thrombomodulin ( sTM ) in acute pulmonary thromboembolism ( APTE ) , but no reports have evaluated the relationship between serum sTM concentration and prognosis. Here, we investigated the correlation between serum sTM concentration on admission and oxygen supplementation duration in patients admitted to the coronary care unit ( CCU ) for APTE, to evaluate whether serum sTM is a useful predictor for treatment response. in patients with APTE. in 4 patients with chronic right-sided APs but did not reappear in any patients with left-sided APs. one of the 4 patients with a right-sided AP had a temporal retrograde reconduction. Reconductions were observed in 3 patients with right-sided APs following administration of ATP alone. Reconductions were also observed in one patient with a left-sided AP and one with a right-sided AP following administration of ATP with isoproterenol. Furthermore, patients with right-sided APs were more susceptible to reconduction by nicorandil. Dormant conduction induced by ATP is a useful method for predicting chronic recurrence of AP conduction after catheter ablation of the atrium. The mean age of the patients was 67 (cid:156) 12 years old, and their mean LV ejection fraction was 26.3% (cid:156) 8.3%. During follow-up ( 27.2 (cid:156) 19.9 months ) , 27 patients were admitted for HF ( 40.1% ) and 17 died ( 25.7% ) ; the mean QRS-LV interval was 103 (cid:156) 33 milliseconds. Patients ...
