Sweating disorder is a condition primarily characterized by abnormal excessive sweating. The pathogenesis of prolonged sweating in the Shaoyin stage should be attributed to kidney yang deficiency and the failure of defensive Qi to hold and consolidate. Based on the theory that “Defensive Qi originates from the Lower Jiao”, this article explores the relationship between yang deficiency in the lower Jiao and prolonged sweating in the Shaoyin stage. It analyzes how Mahuang Fuzi Xixin Decoction stops sweating by focusing on defensive Qi, employing the method of warming and tonifying the lower Jiao while promoting defensive Qi to the surface, with a clinical case presented to demonstrate its efficacy.
