We assesed the contextual modulation of exploratory behavior in weakly electric fish. The synchronizing effect of daily cycles and the presence/abscence of novelty stimulus were quantifyed. Data comprises EOD frequency (to quantify electric behavior) and percentage of time in movement (to quantify locomotor behavior). Seminatural experiments consist on continuous recording of EODs during 5 days. Laboratory experiments consist on continuous recordings of EODs and video recordings from 17:00 to 09:00 comprising light and dark periods with or without novelty.
