Palladium-Catalyzed Catellani-Type Silacyclization of Aryl-Thianthrenium Salts with Tetrasilanes

A palladium-catalyzed interrupted Catellani reaction is reported, using arylthianthrenium salts, octamethyl-1,4-dioxacyclohexasilane, and norbornene as starting materials for assembling highly functionalized silaoxycarbocyclics. It tolerates various functional groups, with moderate to high yields of desired products, and provides a route for the synthesis of complex silaoxycarbocyclic compounds.
