186 Arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM) is the most frequent type of symbiotic relationship between plants and microorganisms on the planet. Plant nutrition, stress resistance and tolerance, soil structure, and fertility are all improved by AM fungi, which can be found in the majority of natural habitats. They also play an important role in a variety of ecological services, such as improving plant nutrition, stress resistance and tolerance, soil structure, and fertility. For their role in sustainable agriculture, AM fungi interact with a wide range of crop plants, including cereals, vegetables, and fruit trees. Mycorrhizal fungi associated with plant roots boost nutrient absorption, notably phosphorus absorption, and so promote crop and tree growth. Ectomycorrhizae are found in most economically important tree species of temperate regions of the world, and in some tropical trees. It is for this 187 reason that these symbiotic relationships are critical in crop and biomass production. This is why they are attracting a great deal of interest in the agricultural and forestry industries.
