The development of Internet of vehicle (IoV) enables vehicles to share road condition data, while the honesty and anonymity of vehicles have become the core issues. The effective solutions to these two issues involving reputation and pseudonym management engender a dilemma. On the one hand, the reputation values bound to pseudonyms may cause pseudonym to be re-linked. On the other hand, the use of pseudonyms may make reputation evaluation schemes less effective. What is more, existing solutions have a single point of failure problem in pseudonym generation and lose a lot of reputation value. To this end, we propose a blockchain-based transparent and decentralized management of reputation and pseudonym (referred to as TDMRP), which can reduce the reputation loss caused by the conventional cloak mechanism and protect privacy of identity. Specifically, for the reputation management, a reputation evaluation scheme is designed with no need of additional characteristic values, which can maintain the unlinkability of pseudonym. To reduce the reputation loss, we propose a dynamic cloak algorithm, which is proved to achieve the theoretically minimal reputation loss. For the pseudonym management, we present an innovative shuffling architecture called fusion shuffling incorporating the strengths of traditional shuffling, Shamir secret sharing, and verifiable random functions (VRF), which not only enhances computational speed, security, and memory efficiency, but also addresses the singl...
