This volume continues with the "Elements," conveniently summarized: Na, K, Cl, S, I, Br, Fe, Co, Cu, Mn, Zn, Mo, Rare Earths, and Se. Most of these are of considerable medical interest and application: some are components of hormones or enzymes; some are widely used as tracers (what became of Cr, however?); the (once) Rare Earths have industrial and political importance. A useful, standard, and cooperative production, with no recognizable deep over-all insights.
