Conventional model predictive control (MPC) strategies for grid-connected power converters primarily minimize tracking errors at the sampling period's endpoint, leading to suboptimal variable trajectories. This work proposes a vector-sequence-variable MPC (VSV-MPC) strategy to improve the current trajectories and reduce harmonic distortion. It employs a six-segment space vector modulation technique, where two nonzero vectors and one zero vector are symmetrically arranged. By varying the vector application sequence, four candidate synthesized vectors are formed. The optimal candidate vector is adaptively selected by minimizing current trajectory tracking errors. The effectiveness of the proposal is validated via comparative experiments.
