Photoinduced Multicomponent Sulfonylsulfination of Alkenes via Aromatization-Driven Deconstructive and Radical-Polar Crossover Cyclization Strategies

A facile methodology, consisting of photoenabled multicomponent coupling of alkenes, spiro-dihydroquinazolinones, and DABSO, is described. This protocol features deconstruction-cyclization efficiency, functional group tolerance, and mild and sustainable conditions, readily producing a series of valuable sulfonylsulfinated derivates with S IV and S VI centers in moderate to high yields. A photoinduced aromatization-mediated deconstructive process and a radical-polar crossover cyclization process involving twofold insertion of SO 2 are proposed in this transformation.
