With the emergence of new forms of mass socialization represented by new technologies and the encounter of social transformation, implicit anti-intellectualism is rapidly penetrating into cyberspace from offline and showing a trend of proliferation. Cyber anti-intellectualism is undermining people's traditional beliefs and trust in knowledge and expert systems in visible ways, and bringing about cognitive disruption in the whole society. This paper explores the origins, causes, and manifestations of cyber-anti-intellectualism in China, and proposes three observational perspectives to examine cyber-anti-intellectualism, and finally, suggests possible ways to govern cyber-anti-intellectualism in China. It is hoped that by curbing cyber anti-intellectualism to the greatest extent possible, it will also restore the reputation of science, rationality, and intellectuals.
