The inherent coupling between phonon and phason fields in quasicrystal materials presents significant challenges for wave propagation in quasicrystal structures. The double orthogonal polynomial method is employed to investigate guided wave characteristics in 1-D hexagonal piezoelectric quasicrystal rectangular bars. The influence of phonon-phason coupling and piezoelectric effects on the guided wave characteristics in x-directional one-dimensional hexagonal piezoelectric quasicrystal rectangular bars is investigated. Results demonstrated that the piezoelectric effect increases the overall stiffness and makes the phase velocity of phonon and phason modes increase. With the increase of phonon-phason coupling coefficients, the phase velocity of phason modes decreases significantly.
