Surface solitons in a nonlinear medium with a mixed lattice

Abstract We study surface solitons in coupled nonlinear equations with two lattices of different modulation depths. The results show that the saturation parameter s , linear coupling constant κ , and lattice depth p r have significant effects on the amplitude, presence domain, and stability of the fundamental, two-peak and three-peak solitons. The stability of surface solitons is studied by linear stability analysis and real-time evolution methods. The stability domain of the surface soliton decreases with the increase of lattice depth p r and saturation parameter s in the interval of soliton existence. However, the stability domain of the soliton increases when the linear coupling constant κ increases.
