A ferrocenyl-functionalized Ag 20 cluster with a sandwich-like architecture exhibits exceptional CO 2 electroreduction, achieving >98% CO faradaic efficiency via ligand–metal orbital hybridization that lowers the energy barrier for key intermediates.
