Digital twin technology has emerged as a transformative tool in smart agriculture, enabling precise simulation of plant growth under environmental constraints. This study develops a digital twin framework for cotton aboveground organ growth simulation by integrating the GOSSYM cotton model with advanced visualization techniques. Through systematic analysis of field experimental data, we first established quantitative relationships between biomass accumulation and morphological development in different cotton organs, forming the basis for an aboveground architectural model. The research implemented three key modules: (1) a growth simulation module developed on the GroIMP visualization platform, (2) a water interaction module quantifying water stress levels, and (3) a biomass transfer module incorporating allocation rules to simulate water-plant interactions. The integrated system successfully realized virtual cotton growth processes through VR technology, enabling visualized analysis of plant-water dynamics. This work provides a methodological framework for digital twin applications in crop management, offering both technical references and practical tools for precision agriculture implementation.
