Homogeneous particle size distribution and morphology are crucial in the application of nanomaterials. Herein, the rotary liquid film reactor (RLFR) was manufactured and updated for the preparation of nano-sized Mg(OH) 2 . CFD simulation helped predict the fluid mixing and product formation under different condition during the synthesis of Mg(OH) 2 in the RLFR, and it was proposed that the mixing effect be evaluadted by the mass fraction of generated Mg(OH) 2 . It is found that by increasing the number of inlets, the uniformity of fluid distribution and mixing effect can be largely promoted with product mass fraction of 95.07 %. According to this, a 4-inlet RLFR was fabricated for the fast preparation of nano-sized Mg(OH) 2 . Compare to conventional RLFR, Mg(OH) 2 synthesized by the 4-inlet reactor presented regular crystalline structure, uniform morphology, and high dispersion, and the particle size is 56 nm.
