A low-radar cross section (RCS) ultra-wideband antenna based on band-absorptive frequency selective rasorber (BA-FSR) is proposed for the first time in this paper. The BAFSR achieves a low-pass band (|S21|≥ –1dB) below 1.62GHz, and an absorption band between 7.2GHz and 13.6GHz. The antenna operates between 0.8 and 2.4GHz, exhibiting a gain enhancement (up to 3.6dB at 2GHz) from 1.54 to 2.25GHz after employing the BA-FSR, and achieving a 10dB RCS reduction between 7.76 and 14.2GHz. The result reveals that the transition band of BA-FSR doesn't simply deteriorate the radiation performance of the antenna, but may even improve it. This work demonstrates the significant potential of the BA-FSR for applications in lowfrequency wideband antenna systems, and has the big reference value for the integration of wideband antenna and radome.
