Enhancement Method for Distributed PVs Hosting Capacity in Multi-level Distribution Networks with Differentiated Flexible Interconnection

As the penetration of distributed photovoltaics (PVs) continues to increase, the traditional distribution network architecture and operation mode are facing severe challenges, such as complex branch flow and large node voltage fluctuations, which makes it extremely urgent to improve the hosting capacity of distributed PVs. Although the soft open point (SOP) can improve the hosting capacity of PV to a certain extent, most of the existed studies have not fully exploited the collaborative consumption potential of flexible interconnection in multi-level distribution networks. Moreover, there are limitations of SOP-based flexible interconnection in topology and port design. An enhancement method for distributed PVs hosting capacity of multi-level distribution network with differentiated flexible interconnection based on reconfigurable SOP (R-SOP) is proposed to achieve an increase in PVs hosting capacity.
