Research on Crimping Quality Enhancement Technology of Tension Clamp in Overhead Transmission Line

Crimping of tension clamp is a key hidden project in the construction of overhead transmission line, and its quality directly affects the reliability and safety of the power grid. The existing crimping equipments have the problems of poor controllability and poor crimping quality. To solve above problems, an active control scheme of closing speed based on the sensor feedback unit is proposed. First, the crimping process of tension clamp was introduced, and the characteristics of the existing crimping process was analyzed. Second, a finite element model of tension clamp crimping was established to systematically analyze the deformation law of conductor and tension clamp during crimping process. Finally, the hydraulic oil circuit and control system of the automatic crimping machine were improved. Furthermore, the comparative experiment was carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results show that the method proposed in this paper can effectively reduce the aluminum tube crimping fringe which can improve the quality of wire crimping and provide a new solution for improving crimping equipment.
