TENG Promoted Anesthetic and Protection Patch for Exposed Wound Dressing

Abstract Healing of exposed wounds is a key process in the repair of skin injuries and is crucial to prevent infection, maintain fluid balance, and promote tissue regeneration. Conventional dressings have been widely used; however, they are often inconvenient to use and have limited analgesic effects. In this work, we have developed a ready to use, disposable collagen‐triboelectric nanogenerator (Col‐TENG) wound protection dressing system. A porous collagen patch acts as a drug reservoir and a contact layer for the skin to protect the wound and remove traumatic contaminants. The frictional electrical field generated by TENG effectively promotes the release of analgesic lidocaine drug from the collagen patch. In vitro and in vivo experiments have shown that compared to conventional drug release systems, this novel friction‐facilitated drug release device achieves faster and more drug release, as well as superior analgesia effects, which is promising in application of pain management in wild environments.
