In this letter, a novel tri-band power amplifier (PA) with three frequency-selective output ports is demonstrated. The key to achieving tri-band tri-output is the output matching network (OMN) of the triplexer-like structure, which can separate the tri-band signal into different output ports through the suppressing network. Each port’s suppressing network consists of two open stubs and two transmission lines. For demonstration, a nonconcurrent tri-band tri-output PA operating at 1.7/2.4/3.5 GHz was designed and manufactured. The measured peak of drain efficiency (DE) is 58%/51.7%/43.8%, with the corresponding output power of 40.2/40.5/40.6 dBm at 1.7/2.4/3.5 GHz, respectively. In addition, the designed PA is tested for digital predistortion (DPD) using a 10-MHz with 7-dB peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) long-term evolution signal (LTE). The adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR) is −46.2/−49.2/−50.5 dBc at 1.7/2.4/3.5 GHz.
