Summary statement We established a novel micro‐millifluidic chip, which not only afforded more space for the long‐term growth of root system but also enabled the precise generation and control of concentration gradients within the culture solution. The newly established micro‐millifluidic chip offers an effective platform for the in situ monitoring of plant root morphology and physiological responses.
