Considering the rising global ageing population, WHO recommends identifying clinically vulnerable older adults, aged 60 years or older, and helping them to maintain and improve their intrinsic capacity to prevent or reverse functional decline. Intrinsic capacity encompasses the physical and mental capacities of an individual, including locomotion, cognition, vitality, sensory capabilities, and psychological capabilities.1 Declining intrinsic capacity is a strong predictor of adverse health outcomes, including impaired activities of daily living, falls, hospitalisation, and death.
