Anxiety-related disorders are extremely common and frequently disabling [1]. Current treatments are associated with high drop-out and non-response rates, necessitating new approaches. Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is now FDA-cleared for anxiety comorbid with major depressive disorder (MDD). However, the optimal anxiety target remains undefined, and TMS applied to the most common target (i.e., left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, dlPFC) may increase anxiety in approximately 20 % of patients [2].
