An efficient approach to access functionalized pyrrolo[1,2- a ]quinolone skeletons was developed through [(IPr)AuCl]-catalyzed formal intermolecular [4+2] reaction of N -Ar N ,O-acetals 6a–6h with arylacetylenes 7a–7r.
