Liquid Optical Waveguide Image Combiner for Augmented Reality Near-Eye Display

The optical see-through near-eye display (NED) a key element for augmented reality (AR), has recently attracted considerable attention. However, due to challenges in fabricating one of its core components, the optical combiner mass production of NED is still limited. In this work, we present a novel and low-cost method for fabricating a liquid reflective optical waveguide combiner that can be adapted for mass production. Additionally, we have fabricated a prototype, showing the overlay of the computer-generated content and the real-world scene.
