Analysis and Modeling of Radiated EMI Considering Coupling between Power Converter and Power Cable with LC-Type EMI Filter

This paper explores the use of an LC-type filter (CM choke and Y-capacitor) in a dual active bridge (DAB) converter to reduce radiated EMI from the antenna. However, a notable radiated EMI issue is identified between 100MHz and 400MHz, resulting from an overlooked antenna formed by the input/output cable and power converter. A new radiation model is proposed considering coupling between the power converter and input/output cables, with experimental verification. Additionally, an improved L and C arrangement is suggested for better EMI performance.
