Shear horizontal wave propagation in piezoelectric semiconductor nanoplates with the consideration of surface effects and nonlocal effects

The propagation of SH waves in PSC nanoplates, considering surface and non-local effects, is investigated in this paper. An improved Legendre polynomial method with analytical integration is presented to solve the dispersion relation. This method transforms the complex acoustic wave partial differential equation solution problem into an eigenvalue problem. An escape frequency formula is also derived. Numerical examples illustrate the influences of surface and non-local effects, as well as steady-state carrier concentration, on the characteristics of SH waves in ZnO PSC plates. The influences of surface and non-local effects on the distribution of physical fields are also discussed.
