The relationship between human beings and natural ecology has existed since ancient times. Since the 20th century, human beings have been pursuing modernization with increasing desire, abusing nature, extremely damaging the ecological environment, and ignoring harmonious coexistence with nature. The ecological crisis has become increasingly serious, seriously threatening human survival. Faced with the severe natural ecological crisis, literature began to respond, and ecological narratives came into being, finding a way out for the crisis of modernity. Therefore, more and more writers, including Arab countries and China, have begun to pay attention to ecological issues through ecological narratives, and awaken human awareness of ecological protection through the description and praise of nature. Therefore, ecological narrative is a field with great research value, which has not yet received due research. This paper is divided into four parts to compare the ecological narratives of contemporary Chinese and Arab novels. The first part: introduces the concept and definition of ecological literature. The second part: introduces the emergence and development of Chinese ecological narratives. The third part introduces the emergence and development of Arab ecological narratives. The fourth part gives examples of ecological narrative works represented by Chinese writer Zhang Wei.
