Chalcogenide glass is widely used in the research and development of integrated photonic devices. Investigating its optical characteristics is of great significance both in theory and application, with film thickness being a crucial factor affecting the optical characteristics of these glass films. In this paper, the optical parameters of Ag doped GSS films at a wavelength of 532nm were studied using Z-scan and pump-probe techniques. The measurement results showed that the nonlinear absorption coefficient decreased from 1.37×10 -6 m/W to 0.82×10 -6 m/W with increasing film thickness. Moreover, the mechanism behind the nonlinear response is considered to be free carrier absorption, and there is a positive correlation between the carrier lifetime and the film thickness.
