Scattering characteristics of multiple Bessel vortex beams by transverse plasma flows

This study combines the plane wave angular spectrum theory with the kinetic theory of plasmas to investigate the scattering characteristics of a macroscopic moving plasma under multi-vortex electromagnetic beam incidence. Beginning with the Thomson scattering theory of the Bessel vortex beam by a low-velocity electron, the incoherent scattering power spectrum is defined for transverse plasma flows. Numerical simulations analyze the relationship between flow velocity and the scattered power spectral density function when the flow direction is perpendicular to the incident wave direction. The results reveal that employing multiple Bessel vortex beams, as opposed to a single beam, significantly enhances the accuracy of identifying and characterizing plasma motion.
