Optimum laser parameters of laser cladding WC coating on TC4 surface

Abstract To be able to acquire improved procedure settings, the microstructure and physical characteristics that comprise the TC4 surface are analyzed and compared. This study discusses the method of choosing laser parameters for the laser cladding of WC coating. The findings indicate that W2C, TiC, α-Ti, and WC make up the majority of the microstructure of the TC4/WC hybrid covering at 900 W, 1100 W, 1300 W, and 1500 W. TiC is mostly present as particles at low power levels, and as power increases, the coating takes on columnar and dendritic characteristics. Under 1300 W laser, the hardness of the coating increased the most, reaching 595 HV, 1.75 times the base material.
