The full implementation of the electricity spot market and carbon trading market in China has brought impacts and challenges to the pricing and trading of thermal power industry. Due to the special operation mode of carbon capture units (CCU), there is an urgent need to study the market bidding model and optimization strategy of the CCU under the electricity spot market and carbon trading market. First, this paper proposes a carbon credit allocation mechanism for the CCU and analyzes its market impact. Then, the bidding models of the CCU under three modes, namely, electricity market, electricity market + free quota, and electricity market + paid quota, are established respectively. On this basis, the optimal bidding strategy process with maximizing the benefit of the CCU is proposed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by IEEE30-node arithmetic simulation.
