Decreased energy barrier and improved interfacial kinetics for efficient photoelectrochemical water splitting using La-engineered LDHs coupled with BiVO 4

A hydrothermal method was used to load Co 2 Fe x La 1− x -LDHs on surface of BiVO 4 photoanode as a co-catalyst. The Co 2 Fe x La 1− x -LDHs can generate more oxygen vacancies, enhance the energy barrier of rate-determining step and improve the kinetics process.
