The plate-lattice metamaterial structure has multifunctional characteristics and excellent mechanical properties, such as face-centered cubic (FCC) structure. In this paper, the quasi-static compression properties of FCC plate-lattice structures are investigated based on experiments and numerical simulations, and compared with FCC truss structures. The proposed FCC plate-lattice structures are prepared by the Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing technology and PLA (Polylactic Acid) material. The deformation mechanism is analyzed by using Digital Image Correlation (DIC) method and finite element simulation, together with the influence of geometric parameters (i.e. cell size, wall thickness, and hole radius) on compressive mechanical properties. The FCC plate-lattice structure has better compression performance than FCC truss structures at the same relative density. As the cell width-to-thickness ratio decreases and the relative density increases, the elastic modulus and yield stress significantly improve. As the relative density increases, the per unit volume energy absorption increases, while the overall energy absorption increasing firstly and then decreasing. The relationship between the relative density and mechanical properties of FCC plate-lattice structure can be predicted by the Gibson-Ashby model.
