Flexible Integrated Photonics for On-Chip Quasi-Distributed Sensing

We introduced a flexible integrated photonic sensing strategy, covering a universal fabrication technique that allows for a wide selection of optical materials to be integrated onto flexible platforms, along with the innovative design of microcavities with an ultrawide free spectral range (FSR) and superior mechanical flexibility. Utilizing this flexible platform, we have successfully demonstrated on-chip high-spatial-resolution quasi-distributed sensing via cascading numerous one-dimensional photonic crystal micro-cavities with distinguished multiplexing capability to form large-scale sensing arrays.
