Two high-nuclear core–shell polyoxophosphovanadates [M 6 O 19 ] 2− ⊂[Na 8 VV6VIV12O 18 (PhPO 3 ) 24 ] 2+ (M = W 1, Mo 2) are synthesized utilizing Lindqvist polyoxometalates as templates.
