Enantioselective Mannich reaction of ketone enolates with imines through cooperative B/Cu catalysis

A B/Cu catalytic system has been developed for an asymmetric Mannich reaction between isatin ketimines and ortho -hydroxyacetophenones. The reaction features nucleophilic activation of ketones by borinic acid, forming an enol boronate complex.
