Sluggish Li 2 O 2 dissolution – a key to unlock high-capacity lithium–oxygen batteries

The kinetics of Li 2 O 2 dissolution determine electrode discharge capacity and charging current. It dissolves via surface dissolution or bulk fragmentation, the latter being 100 times faster. Intermittent-desorption improved the discharge capacity.
