Thin-walled tubes are widely used in industries like railway and civil engineering for their lightweight and Safety. This study conducted numerical analyses to investigate how different types of regular hexagonal CFRP tubes interacted as compared with self-similar hexagonal CFRP tubes. Axial compressive tests were performed on ABAQUS CAE. The results demonstrated significant crashworthiness improvement when self-similarity was implemented in the geometrical patterns of regular hexagonal CFRP Tubes, with the internal clone hexagonal CFRP Tube featuring a self-similarity order showing the best specific energy absorption of about 64.2KJ/Kg.
