The objective of the current study was to introduce a novel oilseed cultivar, Camelina sativa, exhibiting superior quantitative and qualitative traits conducive to climate change adaptability. Recognized for its resilience to biotic and abiotic stressors and its high omega-3 fatty acid content, Camelina sativa presents a viable option for edible oil production. The research was conducted from 2013 for quantitative and qualitative evaluation of camelina germplasm in different agro- ecological zones to 2020 by Oilseeds Research Institute, Faisalabad Pakistan. Camelina Naheel is an outcome of selection which was subsequently improved through plant to row progenies evaluation. It performed well in all yield trials and PCA analysis also depicted variability in all traits. Quality analysis also showed that Camelina Naheel has 35% oil content and more than 20% Omega-3. Agronomic investigations have established the cultivar's suitability for both irrigated and rainfed cultivation within a range of climatic conditions. The adoption of 'Camelina Naheel' is anticipated to bolster sustainable edible oil production, enhance public health, mitigate malnutrition, and contribute to climate change resilience. After thorough evaluation of qualitative and quantitative traits, Camelina Naheel was approve by Punjab Seed Council for general cultivation and allowed to be grown in irrigated as well as rainfed areas.
