A Low RCS Antenna Array Based on Zero Backtracking

In this paper, a low RCS antenna array based on zero backtracking is designed. Based on the principle of phase cancellation and direction backtracking, this array is improved on the traditional Van Atta Array and achieves good RCS reduction in any direction of incoming waves. The simulation results show that the RCS of the antenna array is reduced by 24 dB when the incident angle is$0^{\mathrm{o}}$, and by 11 dB when the incident angle is$70^{\mathrm{o}}$, compared with the metal plate of the same size, to achieve better RCS reduction ability and unknown direction of RCS reduction of the incoming wave.
