With the growing deployment of the Internet of Things (IoT) and big data, tailored services can be offered by IoT-based big data. However, the data it produces includes a lot of personal information, which must be safeguarded. Access control is a crucial tool for protecting the security of big data. Some scholars have recently expressed interest in access control for IoT-based big data, but a comprehensive review is still lacking. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the current technologies of IoT-based big data access control, as well as their comparative analysis. In this paper, we discuss the access control necessities and constraints of the IoT-based big data environment. In addition, we present an overview of commonly used IoT-based big data access control solutions, such as static and dynamic access control, as well as an analysis of their advantages and disadvantages. In the area of IoT-based big data access control, we intend to serve as a reference and guide for future researchers and practitioners.
