Slippery liquid-infused porous surface exhibits a great potential for corrosion management with super repulsive water properties, whilst their poor adhesion to underlying materials and durability of lubricants remains a challenge. In this work, a micro-arc oxidation (MAO)-based solid-like slippery composite coating (SSC) is developed upon Mg-Li alloy LA81 by combining mechanical pinning effects of MAO and super repulsive water performance of SSC, which maximizes adhesion strength, water repulsion and sustainable corrosion protection. The SSC coatings exhibit liquid-to-solid transition under the curing effect of epoxy resin. Efficient sealing of the MAO layer is yielded through high fluidity of the liquid phase of SSC. Cured SSC can further strengthen the interface bonding with respect to underlying MAO layer, and significantly alleviate lubricant loss.
