Ongoing in-depth research into the mechanisms of pulse bioelectricity and related technologies has brought high-voltage pulse electric field technology into focus for global biological researchers. This is due to its distinctive nonthermal biomedical effects. Various electroporation applications have diverse requirements for the number and polarity of pulse waveforms. This article introduces a novel pulse generator that employs a design combining Boost and Marx structures. The utilization of the Boost structure for voltage boosting reduces the turn ratio of the magnetic ring transformer. The article provides a detailed description of the main circuit structure, the design of the driving system, and validates the performance of the pulse generator in generating positive, negative, and bipolar square-wave pulses through simulation and experimentation. The experimental results demonstrate the system’s capability to stably produce positive, negative, and bipolar square-wave pulses with a peak voltage of 3 kV, a frequency of 10 kHz, and adjustable output parameters. The entire system operates reliably, featuring flexibility in structure and adjustable parameters. It also confirms that the output efficiency of circuits with boost structures is significantly higher than that without boost structures. It can effectively meet the requirements of the pulse power supply in terms of polarity and the number of pulses.
