Mitochondrial DNA Base Editing In article number 2304113, Yinghui Wei and co-workers successfully improve the targeting scope, efficiency, and specificity of mitochondrial DNA base editing by fusing a single-stranded deaminase (xAID) and the nuclear export signal sequence. This study offers a useful tool with broad applicability for therapy in mitochondrial genetic diseases.
